Below are the services we provide. If you have any questions or want further information,

Walk-In Support
Staff and volunteers are available 9-3 Tuesday through Friday to help clients fill out paperwork, read mail, fill out applications, create resumes and make phone calls.
 
One-on-One ESL or Computer Tutoring
Stop by our office or email info@iccompassion.org to obtain an application to be matched with a tutor. Please note that there is currently a waiting list.
 
Household Items
If you are in need of clothing or household supplies, please let a staff member know.

Workshops
Workshops are provided on topics including but not limited to nutrition, personal finance and cultural nuances. Email or stop by for more information on dates and times.
Citizenship Classes

Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30 PM

Food Assistance

​The Food Pantry is open Wednesdays 12-5 PM

​Free Legal Clinic

Every 2nd Tuesday of the month

we offer consultations through our free legal clinic at our offices from 5:30-7:30 PM.

Transportation Assistance

We assist with gas and bus vouchers on a case by case basis. 

Immigration

Members of the community that seek immigration assistance may take advantage of legal consultation and related services offered to individuals searching for support in the immigration process. 

The IC Compassion Immigration Resource Center is authorized by the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) to officially provide high quality, low-cost immigration legal services to our community.

Refugee Counseling Center

The Refugee Counseling Center is available to all refugees and immigrants of our community. The counseling center provides free social and emotional health support. Our staff strives to deliver support in a culturally and linguistically sensitive way that respects each person and their journey in life.

Global Food Project
Global Food Project connects newly arrived and established Iowa City and Johnson County residents through community garden plots located at the Johnson County Historic Poor Farm. We use sustainable practices for growing food, provide gardening assistance and resources and help to build and expand communities. We provide a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment for sharing life experiences, building trust between cultures and embracing the diversity of our fellow Iowans.

Student Computer Lab
We provide a safe space with trusted adults where students are provided a place to do schoolwork with reliable internet access and other resources including social/emotional support.
